Big dog, small body

Smart, always wanting to play and learn, loyal,
cheerful - just charming!

Welsh corgi - country dogs with a small body and
huge soul, one from Pembrokeshire, the other from Cardiganshire.

Corgis were counted among the dog cream at the beginning
of the 20th century. First breeders, as pioneers, acted a little bit
blindly and crossed cardigans with pembrokes. The Kennel Club didn’t
give them a help hand either. In 1928 it acknowledged 2 different breeds,
but 2 years later changed its attitude, however in 1935 these breeds
were separated again.

Pembrokes owe their popularity in the UK to Queen
Elisabeth II, who was given her first puppy as a gift in 1933.
It was Rozavel Golden Eagle, known as Dookie. The queen has been
loyal to the breed. And she is not only a corgi owner, but also a breeder.

The first Polish bitch - Ynghariad-i-Cherry Bossom - came from Germany
to Lisiura Kennel owned by the Redliccy family in 1979.
They have been breeded corgis 30 years, so they know almost everything
about the breed.

A lot of practical information about grooming,
nutrition and education, addresses of breeders, the legend and more
can be found at the site of the POLISH WELSH CORGI CLUB

and also at The Welsh Corgi League website.
